Configure suspendig to disk
Posted January 29, 2011
on:Sometimes if we are using the computer and we shutdown down this, we need to turn on up but we don’t write passwds, open apps.. whatever!!… We just want to start using it from where it left!!! so “Suspending to disk” is the solution!
1. Stablish a swap partition/file
2. Install necessary packets. But if you have installed packets, just run #dpkg-reconfigure uswsusp
# apt-get install uswsusp
3. Configure /etc/uswsusp.conf
# vi /etc/uswsusp.conf
resume device = /dev/sda5 # Swap partition.
compute checksum = y
compress = y
early writeout = y
image size = 484036935 # At least, put the ram size.
RSA key file = /etc/uswsusp.key # If your disk is encrypted, this line should be commented.
